しおり絵本『きりんがきりんであるということ』

はじめはイラストのみの栞を作ろうとしていたのですが、出来上がったきりんがなんだか物言いたげだったので詩がつきました。

なんだかそうしている内に、どこからが絵本になるのだろうという疑問が出てきました。

「これは絵本風なものだけど、本の形ではないから栞。じゃあページがあれば絵本になるのだろうか？」

そんなことを考えていたら、半透明のページがつきました。

『しおり絵本』と言っていますが、『絵本しおり』かもしれないし、ただの『栞』かもしれません。

ただ変わらないのは『きりんがきりんであるということ』。


"A giraffe being a giraffe"

At first I was going to make a bookmark with just the illustration, but the giraffe in the finished illustration seemed to have something to say, so I added a poem.

As I was making it, I started thinking, "What is a picture book?"

I thought, "This one has a picture and a text, so it feels like a picture book, but it's not in the shape of a book, so I think it's a bookmark. Then, would it be a picture book if it had pages?"

I was thinking about this, and I came up with the idea of adding a translucent page.

I think of it as a "picture book in the form of a bookmark," but it could be an "illustrated bookmark" or just a "bookmark.
